Price is a consideration. As a fairly new cigar smoker, I'm not willing to spend 20 bucks on something I probably can't fully appreciate.

Price is a worthy consideration, although maybe not linear. Yes, "you get what you pay for," but how often is a $30 cigar TWICE as good as a good $15 jobber? And is a $100 stogie often worth five times a good $20 selection?

So, definitely worth considering because price DOES affect enjoyment: I get pleasure when a mid- or low-priced cigar far exceeds its price expectations--and the chance of disappointment from a high-priced 'gar is quite high ("Man, no WAY this was worth 50 bucks!).

It's hard for a cigar to be cigar of the year when the price point makes it too expensive to be affordable. How can a cigar be cigar of the year when you can't afford to smoke it as much as you would like to.

I don't necissarily think price directly but value should be at least a tiny part of an overall rating. Maybe as a tie breaker when all other things are considered equal.

I don't think price should be a consideration for a top cigars of the year list. Should be tasting only imo. Otherwise you give the impression as C.A. did last year, that a Casa Magna is better than a Padron Anniversary Maduro.
