News: Revised 601 Bands

Earlier this week we posted the first look at the new artwork for EO Brands cigar the 601. I was lucky enough to be sitting down to lunch with Eddie Ortega and my distinguished colleague Tom Johansmeyer from CigarReader.com when some of the comments started to come in. I  informed Eddie about the comments and he said that due to many similar comments the bands would get slightly reworked.

Below I share with you the artwork that will grace the 601 Series of cigars…

Hate to say it because I love EO, but they are still ugly and cheap looking. The old bands were much better.

As long as they smoke the same I will still buy them, but I think these will be much less likely to jump out at someone at looking around their local shop’s humidor for something new.

she no nice looking……… just for looks, but i like having an attractive band on the cigar when i am smoking. if the band isn’t pleasing, i take it off….. so it defeats the purpose of having bands on cigars….

I agree with Danny. The current bands have much more class. My first response when I see the new band is, “They must have lowered the price.” Is it a Chevy or a Cadillac?

I like all the EO blends. Based on the rumbling of the jungle drums, I hope they don’t go nuts on reblending too.

Im a senior designer at a philadelphia ad agency. And this is GARBAGE. It looks like something some hobbyist did. I wouldnt even have the balls to show that to a client. The old look was fine, if they want to save money on the packaging just get rid of the foils and fancy production techniques. Dont change what was a solid logo. This new one is cheapening and dated.

Such a great brand should not be cheapened by a dated and corny logo. It will not serve them well if they’re trying to aquire new smokers. toning down the over-the-top bands is understandable. Completely blowing them up and going with something so bad and cheap looking is a terrible idea and a mistake.

If they want to save money, keep the old logo and print it on a half decent piece of paper, with no production techniques. Nice and simple. Logo knocked out in white on a green band, or red band, or blue band, or black band… you get the point.

THAT is how you save money and keep your identity.

I love EO, but these boring bands are not representative of their edgy and sophisticated products and owners… the current bands are way better…

I hope EO is listening to smokers feedback on this “Change”.The new bands look CHEAP.My advice is to stay with what you are using now
