Originally I had another post scheduled today but I left my camera in my office and having had a 5 day weekend planned I didn’t really want to drive back for it. So with that I decided to get back to my roots and write a review. After all we are a cigar review blog. It’s been great reporting the news and I think for the most part it has been well received but for now it is time to smoke a cigar and share my thoughts with you, not that it matters any. We all have different taste buds and we all have different opinions. Never take my word for a cigar, go out there and try it for yourself. We may agree, or we may disagree but either way you are expressing your right to smoke and are supporting you local shops, mail order houses and manufacturers.
Today’s cigar is the Sencillo which was recently gifted to me Joseph over at ubicigar.com and the photo is from him as well. A solid brother of the leaf with a really good site. I first heard of Sencillo in an email from Prometheus but I never really paid attention to is since none of my local shops carry anything other then the God of Fire of which I am a fan. When I mentioned to Joseph I never smoked one he offered me one and it turned into a huge trade.
The Sencillo is a cigar created for/by Keith Park with the healp of Christian from Camacho Cigars. The stick comes in four sizes, robusto (5.25×50), double robusto (5.75×52), torpedo (6.12×54) and a short churchill (6.25×48) and today we smoke the double robusto.
Cigar: Sencillo
Size: 5.75 x 52 (Double Robusto)
Wrapper: Honduras (Habano Seed)
Binder: Honduras (Habano Seed)
Filler: Hondus (Habano and Piloto Cubano)
Strength: Medium
Appearance and Construction: The Sencillo features and gorgeous reddish brown wrapper with a nice amount of visible oils. The wrapper also has a silky like appearance with minimal veins that are fairly thin. This is a pleasure to look at it and there is a nice weight to this double robusto that has no soft spots. In fact finding any sore of imperfection on the Sencillo is virtually impossible. The cap removed easily and cleanly making this ready to smoke.
Flavor & Notes: The Sencillo has a very unique taste on the cold draw and on the foot prior to lighting up that is similar to an apple spice that I found to be very enjoyable.Once lit the cigar has some notes of leather and spice that really take hold of your tongue so be sure to have some club soda handy to cleanse you palate to true enjoy the notes this cigar has to offer. As we continue down the 1st third the peppery spice fades some and a slight sweetness begins to emerge. As we entered the second third the leather remains but some soft cinnamon notes begin to develop with some espresso from time to time. Just prior to the final third the leather and cinnamon was joined by some apple notes. The final third of the Sencillo remained leathery with espresso notes and the cigar had a dry finish.
Smoking Characteristics: When I smoke a cigar very rarely do I notice how it smells but every now and then there is an exception. This is one of those cigars as I was able to pick up how wonderfully rich the smoke was and it produced a nice volume of smoke. The draw of the cigar offered some resistance and this is a drawback of smoking just one cigar for review. I have no idea if this is common for the line, or I just got one that might of been rolled a little to tight. the burn line was slightly jagged but it never needed to be touched up and at around the half way point it became perfectly even.
Conclusion: For me the cigar was typical of a Honduran cigar with some added complexity. Overall it was enjoyable but left my mouth feeling a tad dry. I would smoke it again with an adult beverage, perhaps a nice hearty beer.

Glad you enjoyed it B, very nice review!
The Sencillo is an enjoyable smoke, I’ve had it a number of times myself. Sencillo translates into “Simple” which is ironic because this isn’t an all that simple cigar in my opinion.

So what’s the verdict? Room 101 or Sencillo? 2 different smokes, but I prefer the Sencillo. I smoke the short churchill pretty regularly.
Being that Camacho advertises on my blog I rather not answer public. Simple answer *wink*
