Despite being a relatively slow news week this one flew by fast. IPCPR is approaching and while some sites have broken the news of new brands to be expected while we will wait to see the cigars ourselves at IPCPR. This week features the announcement of Little Puff, a proposed smoking ban in Savannah, GA. and a report out of Israel states nicotine is not addictive.
- Drapers Cigars in Washington DC has been holding its yearly Little Puff for 10 years and this year is #11. The event will be held on September 24th and you can purchase tickets on August 17th and is expected to sell out within hours.
- Mayor Otis Brown of Savannah, Georgia has proposed a new smoking ban that will make it illegal to smoke cigars in a cigar shop, private club or within 20 feet of an entrance to a building. This ban would be one of the worst in the country and if passed could create a steamroll effect.
- Dr. Reuven Dar in Tel Aviv has concluded his 2nd study in 5 years and has determined that nicotine is not addictive. He claims that addictive nature comes from the social situation attached to smoking then the nicotine itself and I tend to agree.
- Finally, La Flor Dominican’s Litto Gomez has announced the first new Chisel since 2004 as the the Air Bender line will have one debuted at the IPCPR convention in New Orleans.
