Cigar Mondays @ Vetro NYC

l

New York City has some of the greatest cigar lounges around despite growing legislation that makes it more difficult to enjoy a piece of luxury. The sun is shining, a gentle breeze is blowing and the last thing you want to do is sit inside a cigar shop as summer passes you by. Thankfully rooftops lounges have been popping up, some of which are cigar friendly and I think I have stumbled across one of the best.

Vetro Restaurant & Lounge which is owned and operated by the renowned Russo’s On The Bay is located at  164-49 Cross Bay Blvd in Howard Beach (Queens). Vetro has one of the most comfortable rooftops I have come across and for $40.00 you get yourself a premium cigar, butler served Hors D’ouevres and your choice of a cognac, port, single malt or cocktail. As a guest of Vetro I enjoyed some calamari and a couple of  fresh tomato, mozzarella & basil pizza wedges before I lit up my cigar which I paired with some Glenfiddich.

With a stunning moonlit view of Jamaica Bay I lit up my cigar while listening to the sounds of Sinatra, Dean Martin and other artists from a time that has sadly been forgotten and before you knew it I had spent 4 hours relaxing and escaping from the pressures of everyday life.  I highly recommend Vetro NYC as a perfect way to spend a Monday night with friends, family, girlfriend and a cigar. In fact I liked it so much I plan to make this my regular Monday night spot.

If you visit let them know you heard about it on acigarsmoker.com and be sure to say hi to Joe Vacca who will be easy to spot. He is the guy who looks and sounds like a young Joe Pesci and that my friends is worth the price of admission alone.

That place looks like a really cool place to hang out and smoke a cigar….when it’s not too hot.

Very nice. If I was still living in and around the NYC area I would have visited asap. Maybe on my next visit. Even though I’m 1200 miles away now, NY will always be my home. Thanks for the info and pics.

  3. Yes sir this looks like a great spot. I’ll have to drop by, though I may only be able to do it once this whole year ($40 is pretty steep for a college student living in the city – that’s about a week and a half of groceries).

Thanks for the recommendation. Maybe one of these monday nights I’ll run into you there!
