Event Recap: Primo Cigar Shop, Santa Fe, NM

IMG_8163

This past week I took a flight out of New York to escape for a while with some friends in the mountains of Santa Fe, New Mexico. A place I’ve been to once before that had me eager to return. With the mountains in every direction and low humidity I was able to kick back and relax while taking part in the re-branding/re-opening of Primo Cigar Shop. The shop which is open daily from 11-7 features a walk in humidor full of the top brands and a large selection of pipes and pipe tobacco is truly heaven on earth when the surroundings are taken into consideration.

My journey started at 4am on Sunday with a flight from La Guardia to Houston where I had an hour layover. The uneventful flights concluded in Albuquerque where I rented a car and made the 1 hour drive 40 minute drive on the open highways where the speedometer hit 106mph.

Once I arrived in Santa Fe and a quick check in at my hotel I headed over the the grand opening in store event which featured giveaways and specials from My Father Cigars, EP Carrillo and Torano Cigars to name a few. A big thank you goes out to Robert Kasperek, Ernie and Ernesto Carrillo and Brian McGee for making the event a success. We enjoyed some food, music from Mariachi Encanto and of course great smokes.

The second night of the trip featured a dinner at El Farol with cigars from Miami Cigar & Company. Guests smoked La Sirena and Art Deco while enjoying some good Spanish music, wines, and paella as well as great deserts.

I wish my friends much success and below is some pictures and a video. For more photos be sure to check out the Primo Cigar Shop website.

Barry, thanks for sharing about your trip to Santa Fe. We loved having you visit our wonderful “City Different”! The cigar dinner was so special… I usually don’t join my husband when he goes to Primo CIgar Shop to smoke with his friends, but I’m so glad I accepted their “Cigar Dinner” invitation – what an enchanted evening!!! We hope you’ll return soon, and join us for more enjoyable dinners together.

Barry, wow what a night we had. The best time at the grand re opening and just when we thought we couldn’t have any more fun …………. Well there we were at the dinner at El Farol and Primo Cigars and what a blast. Had to be one of the best times we ever had in Santa Fe. So to all that travel to Santa Fe, stop in and meet the guys at Primo Cigar Shop. You won’t be disappointed.

Barry/Jack really liked the store, prices, selection, and the atmosphere. Well worth the drive from Rio Rancho to enjoy a good cigar before dinner. I plan on many visits to your store.

When I was there a couple weeks back I asked about a Cuban P3000 Cigar. I did a little research and the full name of the cigar is the following:

Cuban P3000 Belicoso Fina Colorado Box. Also, it comes in a Rothschild, Toro, and a Mediano.

The last time I had one it was a pretty good cigar for the price. Close but not as good as a Padron 64. I hope you guys choose to add them to your selection.

    Regards
