Weekend Smokes Vol. 3

I can’t believe the summer is almost over, where did it go? It seems as if the older you get the faster time moves and that makes me reflect on words spoken by Ferris Bueller, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around once in a while, it may pass you by“. Which in turn makes me think about Mia Sara who played Ferris’ girlfriend in the movie. She was pretty hot and a decent actress but she seemed to disappear into obscurity.

In other news we landed a job as writer for the magazine Cigar in Switzerland. My articles which will appear in the quarterly publication with be subject to an editor, so the days of typos that have become my trademark will not following me to the other size of the pond. Not that it matters, because unless you can read German you won’t be able to understand a thing written. I write the articles in English before they are translated. I would like to take the time to thank Pete Johnson (Tatuaje), Jon Huber (Crowned Heads), Ed McKenna (CAO), Jack Sweeney (Primo Cigar Shop) and Chris McCalla (IPCPR) for taking the time out of their busy schedules to help me out with the article. I also want to take the time to thank Jerry Cruz and Brian Hewitt over at Stogie Review for helping out with the photography, check out the site (as if you haven’t already) which also features Walt White and Michael Forry.

Lastly, I just want to share that I have been smoking the Casa Miranda from Miami Cigar & Company at a pace that will have me looking to take out a loan. Since the release I have already gone through 2 boxes and will be picking up a 3rd box when Nestor Miranda visits Tobacco Plaza on August 25th.

Here are some of the highlights of what I have smoked this week with music from Adele…

Yes, she has virtually disappeared…too bad. :(

So you’re going to have to get a mortgage to afford to keep smoking the Casa, eh? ;) I’ve only had one so far and I have to say it didn’t blow me away. Nestor Miranda Grand Reserve, though…holy crap! Not happy that those are $12.50 a stick…too much to enjoy on a regular basis, although I wish I could.
