Senior VP Of Ashton Sales Manny Ferrero Passes

Manny Ferrero & Kevin Paige

Last night Manny Ferrero the Senior VP of Ashton sales passed away, apparently of a heart attack while at the TAA convention in Cabo . He died in style, on the dance floor. Manny was known to be fiery, emotional, and passionate. He was a sharp dresser, articulate, and knew how to light up a room. He loved to innovate, when he was not satisfied with traditional events he created pairings. Hosting events which highlighted the ability of anything from lemonade to port to pair with cigars.

Here is a video of an interview with Manny at the IPCPR 2010 from Leaf and Ale

Manny was a father figure to many of us in the industry. He was truly a friend to everyone he met. Passion and loyalty will be his legacy.
Our prayers for the Ferreros and the entire Ashton family.

I had the pleasure of attending a “Manny Ferrero” event earlier this year and I must say it was unlike any other I have experienced. I consider myself lucky to have had met Manny and have been even in the same room with him.

Likewise. Manny has been to Buttheads Tobacco Emporium on several occasions and left that same impression on all of us.

I am in Nicaragua right now. We were at the My Father factory yesterday and Don Pepin Garcia and his wife were very shaken on this. We offered to have them cancel the tour as it was a very hard day for them. They would have none of that… they are all class. Manny was a true icon in our industry.
