1 Sunday down, 51 more to go. New York City’s outer boroughs still look like Armageddon. It is really sad how the sanitation union held New Yorkers in the outer boroughs hostage because of their job action. You see it all started with the mayor having to cut overtime and demote 400 supervisors due to a budget deficit. One could say this saved some jobs, but the union didn’t see it that way. So workers were told that there was no urgency in getting the job done. The result is the outer boroughs, especially south Brooklyn still suffering from snow issues.
Over the course of the first 3 days after the storm I saw many plow operators driving around with their plows up.
