There are two cigars of note about to be unveiled from the My Father factory in Nicaragua. Both cigars are high on my wish list, especially a box purchase of one of them …

Cigar Review: Berger & Argenti Enutbar Quad Maduro

The one thing that sticks out the most about my trip to IPCPR back in August was how excited Al Argenti was about his product. His excitement can be likened to that of a child on Christmas day getting everything he wanted from Santa Claus and then some. It was catchy and as I lit up one of his cigars on the trade show floor I could see why he felt how he did.

Michael and Al Argenti are not new to the cigar world by any means. They are both Nick Perdomo’s brothers-in-law and they share in the responsibility of the success of Tabacalera Perdomo. As time moved on they decided to leave Perdomo to create Cuban Imports, Inc.

Cigar Review: Tatuaje HCS

petejohnsonholtsband

Yesterday I spent the evening in Philadelphia since my job took me into South Philadelphia earlier in day and has become custom I stop over at Holt’s for a few cigars and a trip upstairs to Mahogany. While chatting with Lee the assistant manage he showed me the new Pete Johnson stick, the Holts Cigar Shop exclusive. The HCS also known as “tattoo” was a nice will find.

According to the Holt’s website, “Our good friend Pete Johnson has hooked us up with another outstanding gem! Tatuaje HCS is ”Tattoo” Pete’s latest project out of the Garcia factory and it could be the finest cigar he’s ever made. It could be the silky-smooth Ecuadorian wrapper he chose to finish the cigar with, or the aged Nicaraguan fillers that create the foundation of these treats, but whatever it is these cigars are a delicious, absolute must-try. A rich, earthy-core of flavor gives way to sweet notes of cedar, creamy leather and spicy pepper as you revel in the full-bodied smoke. Pete may be kicking himself for making this masterpiece a Holt’s exclusive, but we aren’t complaining.”

Cigar Review: La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor

la_aroma_de_cuba_mi_amor_tn

I managed to get my hands one of these a few days before IPCPR and when I smoked it I was ready to right a review on it. However, I promised I would wait until after the show as Ashton did a good job keeping these under wraps. Since IPCPR I have smoked quite a few of them and my opinion has never changed.

The Mi Amor has been in the making for a couple of years and Holts in Philadelphia will have an event at the Walnut Street location on August 25th from 12pm at 8pm. If you drop by make sure you say hello to Anthony, Robyn, Bob, Lee & Michael for me. This crew makes up one of the best staffs in the cigar business

onfusion as the event at Cigar Inn for the launch of the 15th Anniversary they gave you a round cigar, but the cigar that is coming out on the market is box pressed. Luckily I got the scoop from Rocky who gifted me a box pressed robusto. I was very much impressed and at Cigar Expo he went out of his way to give me another one to smoke.

Well this past week Patrick from Rocky Patel Cigars sent out a lot of samples to bloggers including yours truly..

Cigar Review: Paradigm 262

The company’s tag line is part of what draws me to this cigar, “Smoke The Revolution”. Talk about a call to arms for cigar smokers. The Paradigm website has a great manifesto that is worth the read. According to the website the Paradigm 262 is a medium to full bodied cigar that is sure to revolutionize your smoking experience.

The name 262 is reference to the month and year that John F. Kennedy signed the Cuban embargo. Just prior to signing the bill John F. Kennedy got himself an astronomical amount of Cuban cigars for his personal use.

Cigar: Paradigm 262
Size: 6 x 54
Wrapper: Brazil
Binder: Honduras
