Studio Tobac ST-DS001 – Cigar Review

STDS001_Band

A few weeks ago I was at Cigar Expo helping out the guys from Miami Cigar & Company by manning the La Aurora Cigar booth. The regular rep had an even scheduled in Philadelphia so I was asked by the VP of Sales to cover for him. While there I ran into Ian Hummel from Oliva Cigars & Studio Tobac. At the end of the show when I went to say goodbye and he gifted me an Oliva V. I noticed a cigar in his pocket, and being the rude bastard I can be I lifted it out to see what it was. Well, Ian insisted I take it and smoke it despite my refusal. The last thing I want to create with this blog is a vehicle for free cigars. I don’t wish to be considered a cigar weasel. With Ian reassuring me I wasn’t I accepted the cigar.

Today acigarsmoker.com managed to get their hands on some photos of the new cigars coming down the pike from Studio Tobac. We would like to take the time to thank Ian Hummel of Oliva Cigars for sharing these photos with us. As soon as we get our hands on these we will be sure to share our thoughts, no word on when that will be as tour dates have yet to be publicized.

They sure do look tasty!

Cigar News: Nub Line Extensions & Studio Tobac

Photos courtesy of Nub and Oliva

Looks like Studio Tobac is planning to include tubos to the Nub line of cigars. As we know the former face of the brand Sam Leccia is gone from Oliva Cigars. The reason behind is leaving is open to speculation and we’re probably not going to find out soon – based on this article by stogiereview.

Anyway, tangents aside, at a small Tuesday gathering at the Cigar Inn, Barry took out his trusty smart-phone and shared a peek of Nub’s new packaging. Looks like the Nubs are going to come in small tubos too and let’s hope the prices of these competitively priced tasty smokers aren’t going to be raised.

Cigar Review: Cain F Nub

cainnublabel

Nub Cigars are something I hold near and dear to my heart. While not necessarily my favorite cigar on the market I always reach for them on occasion because of what they they mean for the history of this website. More then 2 years ago at the launch for Nub I went to an event where I met Sam Leccia the founder and creator of Nub Cigars. It was his words that inspired me to start this website which has continued to grow since its inception. I have met many new friends because of it, some of who are very dear to my heart. It has also opened the door to an industry I so want to be a part of. While I have not yet found a job within the cigar world, I feel I provide a service to my fellow Brothers & Sisters of the Leaf. So thank you once again Sam for you inspiration.

The Cigar Community is a great community weather it be online or in your local cigar shop. Various cigar bloggers have agreed to pick up the slack for me as I deal with flu like symptoms that will keep me from reviewing for at least a few days more. So this is a thank you [...]

Cigar Review: Cain F

The Cain F which stands for Fuerte is a special edition in the Cain series. These sticks are 82% ligero compared to the 77% ligero in the maduro line. These 5 packs were available to retailers who took advantage of a special purchase order from Oliva cigars. In turn Oliva provided shops with these 5 [...]

Cigar Review: Cain Habano

I know I just reviewed the Cain Maduro, but the cigar was so good I had to smoke the Cain Habano samples that were gifted to me as well. If this cigar is half as good as the last one, I’ll be happy. Once again these cigars are distributed by Oliva and from the mind [...]

Cigar Review: Cain Maduro

I finally got my hands on the Cain cigars from the mind of Sam Leccia gifted to me by the local Oliva representative who is one of the better guys in the business. The Cain is triple fermented and contains 82% ligero. It comes in two forms, the Cain Habano and the Cain Maduro. There [...]
