Featured Lounge: Cigarville in Downtown Manhattan

CIGARVILLE

With all the new smoking restrictions and cigar taxes in New York, it’s sometimes hard to be an optimistic cigar smoker. But once in a blue moon, good news comes our way. So, here’s some good news: there’s a new Cigar Lounge in town and it’s called CigarVille.
I had the chance to talk to the owner, Sunil Khatkar, about his shop and how it came to be. Sunil, formerly a neuro-scientist, told me that Cigarville actually has roots in a tradition in South Asia. Recalling that his large family lived in a collective of villages, Sunil recounted stories

This past week I took a flight out of New York to escape for a while with some friends in the mountains of Santa Fe, New Mexico. A place I’ve been to once before that had me eager to return. With the mountains in every direction and low humidity I was able to kick back and relax while taking part in the re-branding/re-opening of Primo Cigar Shop. The shop which is open daily from 11-7 features a walk in humidor full of the top brands and a large selection of pipes and pipe tobacco is truly heaven on earth when the surroundings are taken into consideration.

It is family owned and run by Jimmy Gorji and his brother David. They recently expanded into the space next door and plan to make it into; you guessed it, a Cigar Lounge!

For those of you that are in the Charlotte North Carolina area, I envy you! As of today, there is this great hotel cigar bar there (at the Charlotte Marriott Center) that features delicious cocktails. I’ve often heard people pairing their prized premium smokes with less than premium beverages… to each their own. But for some Sacrilege!

Places to Smoke: Monte’s of Santa Fe

Montes-logo-final windowsmall

Located in the heart of Santa Fe is a cigar shop that would rival any big city smoke shop and in most cases it would stand above. In a free standing building of adobe origins sits Monte’s of Santa Fe with a well stacked humidor containing everything from Macanudo’s to Opus X and a nice [...]

Fume Cigar Shop & Lounge Review

I spend a lot of time in New Jersey. In fact I am in New Jersey more hours per week then I am in New York. After the daily grind of my job I like a good meal, a nice drink, and a place to smoke a cigar while watching the game. Well thanks to [...]
