Kudos to The Robusto Room – Lone Tree, CO.

logo-head

I’ve been lucky enough to do some traveling around the states over the last 10 years for my job, and one of the favorite spots for me was Denver, CO. The reason being is it seems like every bar in Denver was 6 girls to 1 guy. In fact, at one bar in LoDo I had to ask if I was in a lesbian bar and my associates and I were the only 3 guys in a bar that had 17 women present.

La Sirena Series A – Cigar Review

LaSirenaBand

They finally made a cigar to fit the band. That was the first thing to enter my mind when I was given one this past Saturday. The cigars were a parting gift as we celebrated Arielle Ditkowich’s 25th birthday as well as her father Danny’s 50th birthday. Danny is a partner at Tobacco Plaza, a shop I often visit when on Long Island. The event which took place as Oheka Castle (used to represent Xanadu in Citizen Kane) was attended by close friends and family.

The size A (for Arielle) of the La Sirena is a limited edition cigar to celebrate this milestone in Arielle’s life. No word on who will have these to sell, but it will be a tough to find cigar for sure. They are scheduled to start to shipping in 2 weeks.

Contest: Callaway/Club Macanudo Golf Bag & Cigar Giveaway!

GCC-20919-Club-Mac-Golf-Bag-background-web-v1b

It’s that time of year where there is nothing more relaxing then walking the back 9 with your cigar in hand. Especially, if you managed to hit that perfect tee shot and are set up for a birdie to move under par for the day. OK, so that last part was a fantasy as I doubt many of us are scratch golfers. I happen to be a bogey golfer (18 handicap) but I will still play from time to time to escape the pressures of life.

A few weeks ago we wrote how Macanudo and Excalibur teamed up with Callaway to give away 2 golf bags a week. Well this week they are teaming up with acigarsmoker.com to give away a bag to a lucky reader… Here are the details on our Handicap Contest….

Lately cigars have been under the cross hairs of the federal government but there is no mistaking that a celebration is made even better with a cigar.

News: Greetings from Afghanistan…

patch

I am currently down in the Dominican Republic hanging out with some other bloggers at the La Aurora Factory. So while we are away and there is no scheduled review for the day, I figured I would share an email I got. My business partner was attached to the 101st Airborne in Vietnam and was a member of Special Forces. He spent 21 days in the jungle as a POW before escaping.

While I never served, I know the sacrifices our men and women of the armed force make. I salute them for they are what make our country what it is.

This past week I got an email from Master Sergeant Cole in Afghanistan. It was short, but it means a lot to me that members of our armed forces read this site. He wrote, “Enjoy reading your articles sending you pictures.” We exchanged a few emails and with his permission I share these pictures. If only our politicians could appreciate how much a cigar truly means.

I became friendly with Jay Luto a while back through Twitter to the point where I have gone to some events in Jersey to hang out with JerseyJay from time to time. He always had a camera in hand and it was obvious he was more then just a hobbyist. At a recent event for Miami Cigar Company. He told me about his forthcoming website of cigar photography that was due to launch. Well that time has come, and this is truly an excellent site of some great photo work.

According to his website, The blog is a platform to share his two passions, hobbies, healthy addictions – cigar smoking and photography.

News: Neighbor Sues Neighbor over Smoking

Came across the following on Gothamist. Some city landlords have been prohibiting tenants from smoking inside their apartments because of the pervasiveness and dangers of second-hand smoke—but what happens when you’re allowed to smoke in your apartment, go out of your way to not disturb your neighbors with it, and you still get sued? Upper [...]
