It looks like there’s some buzz about this year’s “Little Puff” in Washington DC. The little puff is only little name and it’s actually kind of a big deal:

Saturday News: IPCPR Version 2.

ipcpr

Despite a lot of the new releases coming out a little early like the Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary and the CAO La Traviata Maduro there were a few surprises to the IPCPR that I didn’t know about. Now this doesn’t mean that they were a surprise to all but they did manage to catch me off guard.

EP Carrillo – I went out with a few of my fellow bloggers for lunch. Upon walking in I noticed Ernesto and his family sitting and having lunch. After a quick hello so has not to disturb their lunch I sat down in the back of the restaurant and enjoyed some Aligator. During the course of our meal Ernesto had the waiter come over and buy us a round of drinks which was totally classy.

Sunday Links

I wanted to talk today about darker cigars in general. The opinions I express are my own and I know some of you will share them and some of you will not. It seems to me that the cigars coming out lately that have a maduro appearance are in a war. The war is who can make the strongest cigar. While I expect certain wrappers to be stronger then others I long for the days when a maduro meant the cigar have a certain sweetness. The obsession lately with the use of ligero tobacco has become disappointing to me as a cigar smoker. Some of these cigars are just about the strength and not about the taste and to me that is a sad thing. I realize that there are people especially in the American market who want a cigar that is super strong but I long for the days of the classic maduro.

And of course The Sunday Links!
