Even for long-time Cuban cigar smokers, smoking cigars from outside Cuba can have pretty big impacts. For Hillman Lentz, an entrepreneur who (for a while) only smoked Cuban cigars, smoking a Perdomo cigar (made inNicaragua) has changed his life.

Hillman says,

“It was much better constructed, better tobacco, longer draw; it was an entirely different experience.”

PerdomoLot23_Band

A lot of people I know are huge fans of Perdomo Cigars, and while I don’t dislike them I have yet to find one I am passionate about. After asking a few people in various cigar shops which Perdomo I should try they all said Lot 23. So I picked up 2, and I knew I had one sitting in my humidor at home for well over a year. This past week I took a flight out of New York to escape for a while with some friends in the mountains of Santa Fe, New Mexico. A place I’ve been to once before that had me eager to return. With the mountains in every direction and low humidity I was able to kick back and relax while taking part in the re-branding/re-opening of Primo Cigar Shop. The shop which is open daily from 11-7 features a walk in humidor full of the top brands and a large selection of pipes and pipe tobacco is truly heaven on earth when the surroundings are taken into consideration.

Cigar Review: Perdomo Edicion de Silvio

I never met a Perdomo I liked enough to smoke on a regular basis. I got today’s cigar from a cigar pass, and to be honest I was planning on re-gifting it in another pass somewhere down the road. Well, no passes materialized and I said what the hell I will try it with an [...]

The 3 weeks of the Tour De France has just come to an end as I type this and Lance Armstrong has finished 3rd. Not bad, for a guy 37 years of age in a field of competitors much younger then him. Add to the fact that he was 3 years removed from the race [...]
