Sneak Peak: Thunder by Nimish

BigRifle

Recently some bloggers have been sent some samples on the new sticks from Nimish Desai and while normally I wouldn’t post a review based on un-banded samples I was blown away from the samples sent. While many details won’t be known until an official press release later this week, this is what we do know. The cigars will be available in 3 sizes and retail for between $5.00 and $6.00. The sizes are…

First Look: Tatuaje Wolfman

wolfman2

If I wasn’t sitting in a cigar shop last night on Long Island, I probably wouldn’t have posted this but since it was a topic of conversation I figured I would write about it. Today on Twitter, Pete Johnson who is the mastermind behind the Tatuaje brand shared some info about the upcoming release in the Monster Series line. First thing was a picture of the Wolfman (see below). He also answered the question that was the topic of conversation last night and the answer was these will be available in both dress and non dress boxes.

The Wolfman will be a 7 1/2 x 52 Box-pressed torpedo, with a Sumatra wrapper grown in Ecuador. The band will be brown with red writing which Pete describes as “Ugly”. Production is set to be at the same number as last year, 666 numbered dress boxes and 1300 plain boxes.

Perdomo Lot 23 – Cigar Review

PerdomoLot23_Band

A lot of people I know are huge fans of Perdomo Cigars, and while I don’t dislike them I have yet to find one I am passionate about. After asking a few people in various cigar shops which Perdomo I should try they all said Lot 23. So I picked up 2, and I knew I had one sitting in my humidor at home for well over a year. In fact I would say this is closer to 2 years old. So i decided to make this review based on the 2-year-old Perdomo.

According to the Perdomo website;

Graycliff Crystal (White Label) – Cigar Review

GraycliffCrystal_Band

Recently with Graycliff Cigars being in the news and Torano taking over their US Distribution the cigar has stepped back into the limelight with me. Ad to the fact that they recently became a part of the twitter community and it will tell you a lot about my smoking habits. Our of sight, out of mind. A lot of times I will reach for a cigar because of a conversation I had earlier in the day.

When I was the manager…

Cigar Review: J. Fuego Natural

jfuegonaturalband

I decided to rotate my single stick humidor today and see what was on the bottom that I needed to smoke to constitute 3 cigars for a review. Well the other day Jesus Fuego joined the twitter community so I figured I would kiss some ass smoke one of his cigars in honor of his joining the community. The J. Fuego website calls the Natural, “A creamy cigar with a perfect balance, sweet and spicy. Medium bodied smoke.” Let’s see if this cigar leaves me feeling blown away!

Cigar Review: La Charada by La Caridad Del Cobre

lacaridaddelcobre-band

In the beginning I was the type of person who asked for cigars when I ran into a rep. But after a few months of running the blog I realized that doing this site did not entitle me to free smokes. So, I adopted the policy of not asking for cigars even though certain people told me not to be shy. I felt like even though I was providing a service to the cigar community it isn’t right. This past week at IPCPR I broke that policy one time and that is why I chose the cigar as the first post IPCPR review. Having a hard time finding these smokes and hearing Lindsay Heller talk about them I had to ask Frank for one to review. He gave me one, his sales rep gave me one and I got another one that same night. 3 cigars. Review material.

Cigar Review: Diesel Unholy Cocktail

diesellabel

I first heard of these cigars when Jerry Cruz reviewed them over at StogieReview.com and they piqued my interest since they were made by AJ Fernandez who also makes the Man O War. However I never purchased any until I got one in a cigar pass. The cigar that came in the pass was pretty beat up so I had to go out and buy some more to further appreciate this stick. I have now smoked about 5 of these and decided it was time for a review.

The cigar comes in only one size and in boxes of 30.

Cigar: Diesel Unholy Cocktail
Size: 5 x 56
Wrapper: Stalk Cut Habano (from Connecticut)
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Strength: Full

Cigar Review: Perdomo Edicion de Silvio

I never met a Perdomo I liked enough to smoke on a regular basis. I got today’s cigar from a cigar pass, and to be honest I was planning on re-gifting it in another pass somewhere down the road. Well, no passes materialized and I said what the hell I will try it with an [...]

Cigar Review: Gurkha Black Dragon

Disclaimer: I am not a fan of Gurkha Cigars. But with that out of the way I have had this cigar sitting in my humidor for a few months having been gifted it. I was thinking of re-gifting it but since I have yet to review a Gurkha smoke I figured why the heck not. [...]

Cigar Review: Barrister Closing Argument

My good friend Robert Arroyo steps up to the smokers lounge today with a review while my sinuses recover from a brutal allergy attack this past weekend. Mr. Arroyo is an IT Professional with a seasoned palate in food, wine and cigars. Today he reviews the house blend of Barrister Cigars. So without further adieu [...]

Cigar Review: Padron 1926 40th Anniversary

After suffering a sprain of my left foot last night I decided to drown my  pain in the Padron 1926 Serie, 40th Anniversary Natural cigar. The Padron 40th Anniversary Torpedo is part of the exclusive Padron 1926 line and is even more rare, with only 16,000 released every year. Cigar Aficionado made the Padron 40th [...]

Cigar Review: Los Blancos Criollo

Three days, three cigar reviews. I am in the midst of setting a new record for myself. Today’s smoke has been sitting in my humidor a few months and to be honest I did not want to smoke it for fear of liking it for reasons I rather not go into. However, I kept an [...]
