La Sirena Series A – Cigar Review

LaSirenaBand

They finally made a cigar to fit the band. That was the first thing to enter my mind when I was given one this past Saturday. The cigars were a parting gift as we celebrated Arielle Ditkowich’s 25th birthday as well as her father Danny’s 50th birthday. Danny is a partner at Tobacco Plaza, a shop I often visit when on Long Island. The event which took place as Oheka Castle (used to represent Xanadu in Citizen Kane) was attended by close friends and family.

The size A (for Arielle) of the La Sirena is a limited edition cigar to celebrate this milestone in Arielle’s life. No word on who will have these to sell, but it will be a tough to find cigar for sure. They are scheduled to start to shipping in 2 weeks.

Tatuaje La Casita Criolla – Cigar Review

LaCasitaCriolla_Band

Those who love to collect cars for road racing will all tell you about American muscle cars. Cars like the Challenger, Charger, Ford Mustang, Shelby Mustang and the Ford Cobra. Never has someone talked about an American Puro as a collectible cigar. in fact I am not sure if anyone has ever created an American Puro. According to Pete, the American Puro has existed for years.

La Casita Criolla which translate to “The Creole Cottage” is made up of 100% Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco. This can cause some confusion which Pete cleared up some via his Facebook page some months ago.

As I sit here ready to write my Sunday Links entry i just lit up an Anejo #48 and as I just spoke with fellow cigar enthusiast @baboruger on twitter we both agree that this years Anejo release is pretty special. Although I have had some draw issues, the cigar has been better then recent years.

Yesterday I was on the radio, my first ever cigar interview on the air. I’ve been on the radio on the past as a college DJ back in the day, my friends radio station had me in studio hanging out once and we got into a discussion on new wave music which was awkward as I am a metal head. But my time spent yesterday on The Cigar Authority was a lot of fun and I hope to do it again. In two weeks I will also be a guest on a show hosted by @mallikarjunan

Cigar News: Studio Tobac to Release Cain-F Lancero

Cain F Lancero

Wow, Oliva is introducing a new size for their Cain line, the Lancero. With a unanimous vote from the Board of Studio Tobac, Oliva is going to begin to produce their new Cain F Lancero. However, according to the press release, “the lancero will not be in regular production and therefore will not be for sale to the general public. The Cain F Lancero will only be available in The Limited Edition Studio Tobac Cigar Sampler.” The Cain F Lancero is likely to be packaged in an aluminum tube along with other limited edition cigars to be gifted with a box purchase. Sounds like the presentation alone is going to be an attraction.

Cigar News: Nub Line Extensions & Studio Tobac

Looks like Studio Tobac is planning to include tubos to the Nub line of cigars. As we know the former face of the brand Sam Leccia is gone from Oliva Cigars. The reason behind is leaving is open to speculation and we’re probably not going to find out soon – based on this article by stogiereview.

Anyway, tangents aside, at a small Tuesday gathering at the Cigar Inn, Barry took out his trusty smart-phone and shared a peek of Nub’s new packaging. Looks like the Nubs are going to come in small tubos too and let’s hope the prices of these competitively priced tasty smokers aren’t going to be raised.

Twitter. You have all heard me mention it here on the site at various times. It’s really a great tool with connecting to other cigar enthusiasts as well as other interests you might have. The one big problem is that you only get 140 characters per posting. When your as opinionated as I can  be [...]

Cigar Review: Alec Bradley Tempus

I have been spending a lot of time on twitter lately and today’s suggestion comes from a regular reader of acigarsmoker.com via suggestion from the social networking platform. I was surprised to see that I had not done a review of this very hyped smoke that has scored big in magazines around the globe. The [...]
